From My Deathbed (poem by me)

I want to go to the time store and buy more
Another year another day to
Enjoy simple things I didn’t make time for.

I would sit on the beach and watch the shore
Go to a still lake and fish from a canoe
I want to go to the time store and buy more.

I want to keep every promise I ever swore
Bake fresh bread to dip in cheese fondue
Enjoy simple things I didn’t make time for.

I want to tell my kids all the family lore
Adopt kittens and listen to their mew
I want to go to the time store and buy more.

I want to paint a rainbow using every color
Mix and invent new ones with a unique hue
Enjoy simple things I didn’t make time for.

With bent knees, I’d pray on the floor
Praise God for little things like morning dew
I want to go to the time store and buy more
Enjoy simple things I didn’t make time for.
