If only I were an eagle,
The mountains are steep,
And I am a weary traveler.
My compass fell from a cliff,
My nose is bleeding,
I can barely breathe.
If only I were a fish,
The waves crash hard,
And I am a weak swimmer.
My life jacket drifted away,
My arms are flailing,
I can barely breathe.
Life feels sacred,
when it seeps away,
have mercy on me, God,
for never cherishing it.
