I wanted to travel around the world, And smuggle Bibles across borders, Or maybe care for disabled children In an Asian village orphanage. I wanted to do something big for God, No order was too tall, But the Lord said to me, "Can you do something small?" Can you raise a family? And work hard at your job? Can you love your neighbor? How about adopt a stray dog? After all these years, I say it with a wink, "Lord, these little things are harder than you think." *Draw Near is now accepting poems for Blessed Creation: A Christian Poetry Collection.
