House Plant (poem by me)

You are a flourishing calla lily plant
that grows in a vibrant clay pot;
Your leaves perfectly enchant
Your bloom is a yellow love knot.

When you paint yourself in a positive light,
your view makes you thrive.
When you throw shade on every blight,
your thoughts cause you to die.

Remind yourself you’re a beauty
And tell other thoughts to hush
It’s your own choice and duty
To squash the underbrush.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”—Psalm 139:14
