Samson the Hero (poem by me)

Samson shared the honey,
honey from the lion,
lion that he killed,
killed like the Philistines,
Philistines burned his wife,
wife he swore he must have,
have and hold forever,
forever he is remembered,
remembered for his strength,
strength from the Lord,
Lord of all Israel,
Israel bound him with ropes,
ropes he easily broke,
easily he crushed Philistine men,
Philistine men who tricked,
tricked him to finally admit,
admit his hair should not be cut,
cut on the lap of Delilah,
Delilah brought him down,
down but not out,
out to get revenge,
revenge by pushing down pillars,
pillars that killed thousands,
thousands of oppressing enemies,
enemies of the one true Lord.

*This poem is based on Judges 13-16.

“They will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God their Savior. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, God of Jacob.” —Psalm 24:5-6
