Gaze not at wine while it is red,
You will only want more and more,
Have sparkling water in its stead,
Your sin is waiting at the door.
Avoid her; do not walk her way,
Your lust has chained you before,
Her batting lashes will betray,
Your sin is waiting at the door.
Harsh judgment lifts you up briefly,
Makes you forget your inner war,
Wash your hands of it completely,
Your sin is crouching at the door.
If you fail to heed my advice,
Don’t let guilt knock you to the floor,
God paid for your sin with a price,
Jesus is waiting at the door.
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”—Revelation 3:20
