Prayer for Your Children (by me)

We pray their cares would be few,
& your peace would console their heart,
We pray they would learn their true value
& they’d live as ones set apart.

We pray they would know Your amazing grace,
Though they may never learn the depth or length,
We pray they claim You as their hiding place,
& let the joy of the Lord be their strength.

We pray they would know You as their Friend,
& learn to trust You and be still,
We pray good would come to them,
All this according to Your perfect will.

Let them share the gospel without shame,
Let them lift up praise to Your Holy Name.

Who Does God Love? (poem by me)

God shows no favoritism,
He loves men; He loves women,
He loves them from all nations,
God loves those who love Him.

God loves the little children,
He loves the abandoned,
He loves the heartbroken,
God loves those who love Him.

God loves those who’ve sinned,
Those who are grief-stricken,
who want to begin again,
God loves those who love Him.

“I love those who love me,and those who seek me find me.” —Proverbs 8:17

Number Man (poem by me)

His life is defined by the…
…salary he will earn,
…bills he must collect,
…yield on his stock,
…minimum he will accept,
…debt owed to him,
…deduction he can get,
…sale priced just right,
…count of his assets.

Remember, Number Man, to kiss
your children good night.
Remember, Number Man, the Lord
has numbered your days.

“So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.”—Psalm 90:12

A Blessing for Children (prayer)

2 Cor 9 8(Join me in prayer to bless the children in your life.)

I bless  the children in my life,

May their days be many

And may each one be filled with the joy of Christ

Give them good health in the body

And let their soul bloom with

Self-control, kindness and gentleness.

Fill them with hope and excitement

For every new day

Because You plan to prosper them

Not to harm them.

May they never be too rich to see their humble place in the universe

Or so poor that they are tempted to steal from their neighbor.

Remind them that relationships

Are better than glorious riches.

May they always see You

May they always hear You

May they always sense Your Presence, Lord

For You are the ultimate reward

The prize we seek all of our days.

In Christ’s Name, Amen.
