Farmer’s Seed (poem by me)

You are the salt of the earth;
Farmer, we say that to you;
You are hardworking and true;
We recognize your worth.
To the crop you give birth,
The soil, you subdue,
Cornstalks break through,
to avert famine and dearth.

But where is your son?
He’s not learning how.
He won’t be outdone—
living the life of high brow,
He forfeits work in the sun,
renounces his seed and the plow.

Lord, thank You for farmers. Please bless them and give wisdom to the next generation. In Christ’s Name, Amen.

Fruitfulness of Patient Work (prayer)

Genesis 215(Join me in prayer today for farmers everywhere for they cultivate the land to bring sustenance to mankind.)

We pray a blessing over farmers in our area and in other parts of the world.

Thank You that You, Almighty God, care about Your creation—

Down to the details of how land is being used and what crops are being grown.

We pray You would place an interest in future generations

To continue farming these lands.

We pray it would continue to be a prosperous profession.

Cause them to look to You for their salvation first,

Then continue to look to You for provision and hope.

We pray the resources needed to produce would be sufficient.

We pray for the local economies.

Give them courage and faithfulness to continue their patient work.

Thank You that You reward the work of our hands with fruitfulness.

In Christ’s Name, Amen.
