Poetic Prayer for the Unsaved (poem by me)

Lord of all mankind, nothing is too hard for You,
Thank You for saving me and washing me of my sin,
I know You are real and Your Word is true,
Now I come before You for my friends and kin.

Open their eyes to see they strayed,
Let them repent of sin and comprehend,
Cause them to feel shame and disgrace,
So they’ll reach out for You before their life’s end.

Let them reach out for You and see You’re near,
You are knocking at their door even now,
You’re speaking to them — let them hear,
Let them open the door — show them how.

Show them that those who seek will find,
Reveal the depth of Your love and grace,
How Your Son died for the sins of mankind,
Illustrate how His punishment took our place.

Let them ask for and receive the Holy Spirit,
Like a kind Father, it’s Your good pleasure to give it.

*I pray in agreement for the salvation of your loved ones. In Christ’s Name, Amen!

Questions for the Not-Yet-Christian (poem by me)

Do you enter a marriage with “I have an open mind”?
Don’t you instead begin it by excluding others?
Don’t you and your spouse sign on the dotted line?
When you commit to the Lord like you did your lovers?

You should be leaping fences—not sitting on them!
The double-minded are like a reed blowing in the wind,
Don’t you know His love is like a thousand gem?
Stop dragging your fee and let your new life begin!

Who has trusted in the Lord and regretted his way?
If you’re going to do it at all, do it full send,
Don’t waste another second of another day!
Whether you know it or not, Christ is your truest friend.

Why shouldn’t you commit your life to Him too?
Hasn’t He already laid down His life for you?

“For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”—Matthew 7:8

Love One Another (poem by me)

If you drive up in an beatup hoop-d, I’m gonna love you,
If our skin colors don’t match at all, I’m gonna love you,
Even if you turn away from me, I’m gonna love you still.

If you open your mouth and tacks fall out, I’m gonna be your friend,
If you wear a potato sack dress, I’m gonna be your friend,
Even if you stay on the couch all day, I’m gonna be your friend.

If your unfaithful spouse divorces you, I’m gonna sit with you,
If you get fired from your longstanding job, I’m gonna sit with you,
Especially if you become ill, I’m gonna sit with you.

I may not be Jesus, but I have His hands and feet,
That’s why…
I’m gonna love you,
I’m gonna be your friend, and
I’m gonna sit with you.
We’ll be together even after the end.

“By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” —John 13:35

That One Friend (poem by me)

You say you don't know God
Haven't seen or heard Him
But you have a good friend
And he's a faithful Christian.

Here's the honest truth,
if you'll take the time to hear it,
The awesomeness in your friend
is God's Holy Spirit.

In your mind you do not know Him,
But Your heart has grown to love Him,
And your friend who has been so true
is God's Spirit loving you.

"...the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness, self-control..."—Galatians 5:22-23
