At the Door (poem by me)

Gaze not at wine while it is red,
You will only want more and more,
Have sparkling water in its stead,
Your sin is waiting at the door.

Avoid her; do not walk her way,
Your lust has chained you before,
Her batting lashes will betray,
Your sin is waiting at the door.

Harsh judgment lifts you up briefly,
Makes you forget your inner war,
Wash your hands of it completely,
Your sin is crouching at the door.

If you fail to heed my advice,
Don’t let guilt knock you to the floor,
God paid for your sin with a price,
Jesus is waiting at the door.

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”—Revelation 3:20

Unconditional Love (poem by me)

I am not in a
moral,
physical,
financial,
or spiritual
race with you.
I am just looking for a friend.
Will you accept my unconditional love?

I am not
criticizing,
judging,
condemning,
or despising you
in my head.
Will you accept my unconditional love?

I am only expressing the love
the Father has bestowed on me.
He taught me how to
love others unconditionally.
Will you accept His unconditional love?

“But God showed how much he loved us by having Christ die for us, even though we were sinful.”—Romans 5:8
