At the Door (poem by me)

Gaze not at wine while it is red,
You will only want more and more,
Have sparkling water in its stead,
Your sin is waiting at the door.

Avoid her; do not walk her way,
Your lust has chained you before,
Her batting lashes will betray,
Your sin is waiting at the door.

Harsh judgment lifts you up briefly,
Makes you forget your inner war,
Wash your hands of it completely,
Your sin is crouching at the door.

If you fail to heed my advice,
Don’t let guilt knock you to the floor,
God paid for your sin with a price,
Jesus is waiting at the door.

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”—Revelation 3:20

Beer Cheese Soup

I look at you,
You look at her,
He looks at me.

If, with lust-filled eyes,
we commit adultery—
Then there’s been a betrayal
over beer cheese soup.

“But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” —Matthew 5:28

7 Deadly Sins Part I (poem by me)

It’s the story that goes untold,
In you builds an unquenchable fire,
For inappropriate desire,
Lust is the sin that has taken hold.

You are a chosen daughter or son,
And that truth can’t be undone,
Reach for healing without hesitation,
Make chastity the focus of your meditation.
