A Poem Prayer by me

Father, we know You are there,
We ask You to hear our prayer,
Heal us from shame, fear, and rejection,
Oh Lord, have mercy on us—Your children.

Help us to exalt Your opinion of us,
To You, we are positively priceless,
Help us to disregard any objection,
Oh Lord, have mercy on us—Your children.

With Your blood, make us clean,
Deliver us from our sinful routine,
Forgive our every transgression,
Oh Lord, have mercy on us—Your children.

“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us….”—Ephesians 1:7-8

*Agreeing in prayer is one of my favorite things to do. If you like it too, consider agreeing with the prayers in this free ebook for the nations of the world. Check it out:  Beseeching Grace: An International Prayer Collection.

Just One More (poem by me)

Let’s have a drink or maybe two,
I notice this habit sticks to me
But not to you
I shake it off
Now it’s stuck like glue.

What will my family say?
I’ve disappointed them again,
How can I face God and pray?
I used to speak with Him so open.

Savior, save me from this spinning circle,
Relief, regret, repent, repeat,
Help, I’m merely mortal,
Today I’ll rise up, overcome, and defeat.

Our God is a God who saves; from the Sovereign LORD comes escape from death. —Psalm 68:20

*This poem is not actually about my own struggle. Yet, it is easy for us (as Christians) to relate to this vicious cycle since we all must wrestle with our flesh against sin.  May we all press onward to the goal of Jesus Christ together. I pray the Lord helps you to overcome whatever you are battling today! (If you were interested in my own testimony of deliverance, you read it in a blog HERE.)
