Sorcery (blog by me)

Sorcery sounds like something from the movies, but it is widely practiced in modern times. It is called by other names like witchcraft and magic. However, it is all the same thing – manipulating the supernatural realm to accomplish one’s own means. It does not matter if you are doing it to gain things selfishly or if you are trying to do something nice for another human being. The same result is accomplished. You have exerted your will over God’s will.

If we consult God’s will by prayer and receive what is granted, we know that true good has been accomplished. Trying to do good outside of God’s will results in disaster because we are not all-knowing. Throw away the crystals and whatever other things you use in ritual and take up prayer and God’s Word (see Deuteronomy 18:9-15) to do good the right way. Ready? Let’s pray about it.

Lord, I confess I have been trying to accomplish my own will by supernatural means. Forgive me and help me to live a new life by faith in Jesus Christ. Help me to depend on You for all I need. In Christ’s Name, Amen.

Necromancy (blog by me)

Necromancy can be defined as communicating with the dead. It is forbidden in the Bible (see Leviticus 19:31 and Deuteronomy 18:9-12). In modern times, we might call a professional necromancer a medium. However, there are lots of people who attempt to contact the dead for good and evil reasons. The Bible does not excuse the practice based on intent. It simply and clearly forbids the practice. Even if the psychic or medium refers to God or has a picture of Jesus on the wall or calls himself or herself a Christian, please heed the warning to stay far from every medium.

Aside from the practice being forbidden, there is no guarantee that the medium will be able to contact the spirit of your loved one. In fact, it is far more likely that the spirit contact will likely be an evil spirit pretending to be your loved one. Evil spirits can have personal knowledge about your family simply by having existed in your family for generations through generational sin patterns.

If you have been trying to communicate with the dead by yourself or through a medium, it is important to confess and repent right now. Please join me in prayer: Lord, Forgive me for communicating with the dead. I break all contact with the dead and evil spirits right now in the Name of Jesus Christ. Deliver me from all evil for You are an awesome and Holy God. In Christ’s Name, Amen. I’m sure you miss your loved one, but God is still your best choice for both companionship and guidance in this life since He is alive for eternity, loving beyond all others, all-knowing and all-powerful. God bless!

Divination (blog by me)

Divination can be defined as trying to learn the future by using supernatural means. It may sound like an ancient practice that is no longer used, but the truth is that it is still commonly used by people every day. Anytime a person calls a psychic, visits a fortuneteller, gets their palm read, reads a horoscope, consults angel cards or tarot cards, uses numerology or tries to learn the future by using any supernatural means, they are guilty of divination.

Deuteronomy 18:9-15 tells us these practices are detestable to the Lord. In fact, the Lord says the nations that were driven out for their wickedness practiced divination. Whether you use divination for good or evil makes no difference. The supernatural means to receive future information is not given by God. There is no energy in the universe whereby people may gain wisdom. There is only God and His angels versus Satan and his demons.

Christians make their appeals directly to God by prayer. He is the One who dispatches His angels. We have no business calling on them just as the US President has no right to call on British troops. They only respond to their own leader’s commands. When humans try to foretell the future by summoning God’s angels or energy, they are actually summoning Satan’s demons who are willing to do their bidding for a price. You will never know that price until you have paid it, and the practice of divination will be driving you further from the God who loves you so let’s turn and repent with the below prayer.

Lord, I confess I have practiced divination. Forgive me for this sin. I break off any communication with any entities besides You, Lord. I will remain faithful to You in my heart, soul, and mind. In Christ’s Name, Amen.

Who Does God Love? (poem by me)

God shows no favoritism,
He loves men; He loves women,
He loves them from all nations,
God loves those who love Him.

God loves the little children,
He loves the abandoned,
He loves the heartbroken,
God loves those who love Him.

God loves those who’ve sinned,
Those who are grief-stricken,
who want to begin again,
God loves those who love Him.

“I love those who love me,and those who seek me find me.” —Proverbs 8:17
